Is my document uploaded when I sign it?
No. Everything — loading the PDF, drawing your signature, placing it — runs in your browser, so the document never touches a server. The only file that moves is the signed copy you choose to save.
Is an electronic signature legally binding?
In most places, an electronic signature carries the same weight as a handwritten one for everyday agreements — that is the point of laws like the U.S. ESIGN Act and eIDAS in the EU. Some documents are excluded almost everywhere, typically wills, some property transfers, and certain court and family-law filings, and a few need a witness or a notary regardless of how they are signed.
